Life at 534 Thurston Avenue

The Zeta Psi chapter house at 534 Thurston Avenue offers one of the most luxurious living arrangements on campus. Brothers' bedrooms are located on the second and third floors. Every brother living in the house sleeps on a queen-sized bed, and cable TV and internet connectivity are available in each room. This year, every bedroom in the chapter house is a single. However, some years it is necessary to break up the largest singles into doubles.

The common areas of the chapter house make it an ideal residence for a Cornell student. The first floor boasts a lavish common room (with the largest flat screen high definition TV in the Cornell Greek system) and a library for quiet study. The first floor also features a ping pong table, an air hockey table, and a foosball table, all graciously donated by our generous alumni. The second floor boasts a hookah lounge and even a billiards area, fully stocked with cues and chalk. The basement houses our laundry room with two washers and driers (free of charge), a second lounge where brothers come to work quietly, tables for working or conversing with fellow brothers, and a fully equipped weight room. The basement is also a great party spot, featuring a full-sized bar, a musically equipped concert stage, and an oversized dance floor.


The luxury and convenience of the chapter house extends to the property as well. In back of the house is a spacious parking lot. Spots are provided to brothers free of charge. In front, our newly renovated patio is bordered by a spacious, grass-covered field, which leads directly to Louie's Lunch Truck. The sides of the house are occupied by a half-court basketball court and a horse shoe pit.

As far as nightlife goes, the basement bar, first floor common area, parlor, and dining room convert into one of the Greek system's largest dance floors or pong arenas. When combined with our comprehensive sound system, the dance floor provides the house with the ability to host some of the most widely talked about parties on campus.

Living at 534 also involves joining the Zeta Psi mealplan. The mealplan includes food prepared by our fabulous chef as well as complete 24-hour access to our kitchen and dining facilities, which are always fully stocked for the convenience of the brothers. In fact, brothers have the ability to request any food item or meal they choose. The house steward addresses these requests and organizes a meal plan that meets all the nutritional demands of physically active men. Our chef prepares excellent lunch and dinner Sunday through Thursday.
