Academics

At Zeta Psi we value academic success as one of the core tenets that makes the Psi Chapter of Zeta Psi one of the most academically successful out of the more than 50 active chapters worldwide. As Cornell University, Zeta Psi ranks within the top half of GPA out of more than 40 fraternities on campus. Brothers are able to strike a balance between their academic workload, campus involvement and being active members of our brotherhood. We encourage a collaborative learning environment that allows new members to seek the advice and help from older members who often have valuable academic insights. With brothers in every college at Cornell, there are always resources available from the School of Hotel Administration to the College of Architecture, Art and Planning. You can see how we compare to other fraternities HERE

Involvment

In addition to strong academic success, the vast majority of our brothers hold leadership positions on campus. At Zeta Psi we stress involvement both on campus and at Zeta Psi, and many brothers are involved in at least 2-3 organizations on campus. These organizations range from community service groups, to teaching assistants, to business organizations on campus. Needless to say, for any prospective new member interested in joining our house, there is a brother either directly or indirectly involved with any interest you may have on campus.

Campus Involvement

  • Orientation Steering Committee
  • Cornell Asian Real Estate Society
  • Cornell University Sustainable Design
  • Professional Fraternites (Theta Tau, Alpha Phi Omega, Phi Sigma Epsilon)

Philanthropy

Perhaps one of our most important values; Zeta Psi firmly believes in giving back to our community. We host and co-sponsor multiple philanthropic events throughout the semester for the Cornell, Tompkins County and Ithaca community by being a key member of many of the philanthropy events throughout the year. Our philanthropy chair organizes and creates events that brothers can attend and keeps track of the chapter’s total community service hours. On average, brothers contribute at least 25 hours each semester for community service, not including efforts brothers do themselves. See our list of philanthropy events below:

Philanthropy Events

  • 3 Pointers for Colon Cancer in Honor of President Elizabeth Garrett with Phi Sigma Sigma
  • Up Till Dawn at the Nines with Delta Delta Delta
  • Greeks Give Back

Athletics

Brothers actively participate in many of the various NCAA, club, intramural and recreational sports on campus and throughout Ithaca during the academic year. We push our brothers to strive for physical and academic success and send brothers to compete in interfraternity sports each semester. In addition to the fraternity league, club and intramural sports has allowed Zetes to interact with Cornellians beyond our house. In the past, brothers have been varsity leaders of the Cornell Swim and Dive Team, varsity athletes on Cornell’s Rugby Team, and even part of the ‘Buds’ on Cornell’s famed Ultimate Frisbee Team. Brothers compete in a wide variety of sports including softball, indoor soccer, basketball, and tennis among others.
